Customer Story
How a global bank automated daily SAP reconciliation and write-back with DVW
A large international bank needed to take the manual effort, and the early starts, out of its daily SAP financial close routine. This is a write-back story: not just reading SAP data, but writing results back into SAP automatically.
The challenge
Every day the finance team reconciled multiple ledgers and prepared intercompany postings by hand. The work started early, often before 6am, to be ready for the day, and it was repetitive, time-pressured, and easy to get wrong.
The solution
The bank used Alteryx with the DVW Connector for SAP to automate the daily cycle end to end. SAP data is read for the multi-ledger reconciliation, the team reviews and approves the draft postings, and the resulting intercompany postings are written back into SAP. The whole cycle runs inside Alteryx, from reading SAP to writing the postings back.
The outcome
The daily reconciliation and posting run is now automated, saving the team around two hours every day and removing the early-morning shifts they used to work. The same approach reads from SAP and writes back to it, so the whole cycle runs without manual rekeying.
